This year there will be a slight scoring adjustment.

All sweets will have a small percentage reduction of scores in order to make the competition more even.
This will allow other categories  a better chance of winning medals and overall.
This will also encourage more entries in the other categories as well.
As sweets consistently get a certain percentage of  higher scores each year, we will adjust the sweet scores by that percentage  in order to make the scoring more even.

This is known as a handicap

Transcendental Cooking Contest

11:30 am – 12:30 pm Preparation Registration
11:45 am … Raja Bhoga Arati with Kirtan
1:00 pm … Serving & Judging
The purpose of the competition
is to please Lord Nityananda!
Lord Nityananda likes prasadam!

We can please him by preparing nice prasadam for Him.

Lord Nityananda wants our Bhakti, Love, and a practical way we can demonstrate our devotion is to prepare our best offering for His pleasure.

As for the competition!

Srila Prabhupada encouraged competition.
  • For book distribution he encouraged competition.

  • The cowherd boys would also compete with one another to see who could catch Krishna first.

  • Even Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu when cleaning the Gundica Temple would compete with His devotees.

So competing to see who can prepare the best offering for Lord Nityananda on His appearance day creates healthy competitive spirit.

It is not just by our cooking ability that we can please Lord Nityananda. It is by the mood in which we prepare our offering. Indeed if we cook to the best of our ability to please Lord Nityananda with a mood of devotion, He may award us by having our name permanently engraved on His Transcendental Nectar Cup.

Lord Nityananda’s Cooking Contest is a wonderful festival where every devotee can participate by cooking for Lord Nityananda on this special day.
